"My professional goal is to create an environment
that encourages open communication and educational opportunities
for both our clients and people within the veterinary
profession. So together, veterinary team members and
pet parents can work to insure quality pet care and
education in order to enhance and preserve the special
relationships we have with our pets."
I am proud to be the Practice Administrator at Nassau
Veterinary Clinic, a 2001
Veterinary Practice of Excellence and 2002
Veterinary Team of the Year. I have been the practice
manager since 1986. During the last twenty years I have
progressively managed our hospital as we grew from a
3 doctor-10 support staff, mixed animal practice to
a 7 doctor-42 support staff AAHA Certified small animal
hospital. Our clinic has been featured in Veterinary
Economics magazine and AVMF Client Link Video Series,
featuring our innovative puppy program.
My experiences with Nassau Veterinary Clinic began
at age 4 with my first pony "Sulky Sullivan."
Harry Zweig, DVM, then owner of Nassau Veterinary Clinic,
was my next door neighbor. Dr. Zweig was a colorful
man who intimidated this then child. But I must admit,
he intrigued me and in his very direct manner taught
me many things about my dogs, cats and horses. I joined
4-H and was fascinated by the relationships that my
friends (and myself) had with our horses and pets. This
fascination continues for me today. I never thought
my interest in pets and people could evolve with my
education in business to mold my career in the veterinary
field. I am one of the lucky people who can truly say,
"I love what I do!"
In 1994, I earned the international designation of
Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). I am a
member of the Veterinary
Hospital Managers Association and American
Animal Hospital Association.
I am still a lifelong resident of the area, living
with my husband and best friend Larry, and many assorted
four legged friends on our 43 acre mini-farm. I enjoy
dancing, traveling, kayaking, camping and spending time
at home with my family, pets and friends and enjoy horsin'
around (with my horses) whenever I can.
