Canine Good Citizen!
Course Description: The CGC - Canine Good Citizen - course is designed to show that your dog is a responsible member of your community! In this course you will learn the exercises to help you and your faithful companion pass the test. There are ten exercises and each must be completed successfully. All dogs are eligible to take the test, and then they are listed in the GCG records at AKC. Most of all, remember that this is for fun! This is also the perfect first step toward any kind of future training that you may want to pursue with your best friend. The exercises that we do here are also part of the TDI - Therapy Dog International - test.
RALLY!!
Course Description: Rally is a great way to work with your dog on obedience skills while keeping everything fun.
It's a great transition class after CGC and will give you an idea of what Rally trials would really be like. We'll be working on a lot of different Rally and Obedience training - this includes loose leash walking, sitting, stays, downs, various turns, and other fun exercises. Encouraging your dog with praise and treats is encouraged. At the end of the session, there will be a novice rally course setup for fun!
Agility Fun Class!
Course Description - The agility fun class is another good transition after either the CGC class or the Adolescent class. This class provides a good beginning basis of what agility is. We'll be going over the different equipment and play lots of agility games that are fun as well as motivating for the the dogs. Obstacles include tunnels, jumps, small a-frame, weave poles, teeter, and the chute. All equipment heights will be kept low for safety. We'll also be doing some tricks, just for fun! For our last class we'll have a small agility novice type course setup for fun!
