Nassau Veterinary Clinic supports local
rescue organizations as well as the volunteers who make them
work. Often, rescued animals require medical treatment as
well as routine veterinary care, and NVC provides this service
for pets taken in by several rescue groups in the Capital
District. One veterinarian at NVC states that, "The people
who help to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted or displaced
pets touch a lot of lives
I am always enthusiastic about
being part of the process."
In addition to providing medical care for rescued pets, NVC
provides a place for the rescue organizations to hold pet
adoption clinics. At these clinics, the rescue volunteers
educate prospective adopters, and help match them with a pet
that will suit their needs and lifestyle. After the adoption
process, these volunteers follow up to ensure the new pet
is adapting well to their new home.
Cheryl Luciano, a NVC employee and rescue volunteer knows
first hand that, "Rescue organizations are made up of
some of the most dedicated and compassionate individuals who
volunteer their time. They are extremely devoted to the pets
they rescue. NVC is proud of their work and are glad to be
a part of their success."
And when the time is right to share your life and your home
with a new pet, Nassau Veterinary Clinic encourages you to
consider opening your heart to a rescue. Please visit the
