Just like visits to the doctor or pediatrician are important
for people, preventative routine veterinary care is vital
to the long-term health of your pet. Nassau Veterinary Clinic
offers thorough Comprehensive Pet Physical Examinations. This
exam begins with a 12-point evaluation, looking in detail
at: coat and skin; eyes; ears; nose and throat; mouth/teeth/gums;
legs/paws; lungs; heart; abdomen; lymph nodes; urogenital
system; and central nervous system. The results of this exam
are combined with the medical history and pre-existing conditions,
all-important observations of the owner, and annual routine
recommendations of your vet to provide a custom annual medical
plan for your pet. Veterinarians and staff are kept completely
current with respect to your pet's medical needs. Preventive
and therapeutic plans are outlined then discussed with owners
to provide the service both you and your pet need.
At NVC, monumental efforts are made by all staff members
to see to it that your beloved pet's experiences here are
positive. You may have noticed that your pet is greeted by
staff members with a special treat, a friendly scratch behind
the ears, or an affectionate greeting. We adamantly believe
that medical procedures are more easily tolerated when they
are made less scary by staff that understands things from
"the animal's point of view." Our staff is encouraged to augment
their medical training with behavior education - treating
the "whole animal" is our goal. Behavior
specialists have worked with our staff to minimize pet
stress during procedures and visits to the clinic.
