I grew up in Nassau, and I have been working at Nassau Veterinary Clinic since I was a small child while attending Columbia High School. My father, Herbert Dietrich, DVM, was one if the original owners of NVC prior to selling the practice to myself and Dr. Tom Phillips. He encouraged my interest in veterinary medicine. I not only rode with him on farm calls, I worked in the clinic cleaning kennels, as a client representative and then as a veterinary assistant. I graduated form Cornell Ag and Life Sciences in 1981 and from Cornell Veterinary College in 1985.  My husband, Dr William Zimmerman, was also a graduate of the Cornell Veterinary College class of 1985.  I have always practiced high quality health care and developed an interest in advanced diagnostics in ultrasound and surgery.  I love the challenges of involved medical cases and improving the life of animals.

Professional Interests: Surgery, Ultrasound, and Internal Medicine

Personal Interests: Skiing, including masters racing, hiking, horseback riding, camping and walking with my dogs
